JF implements paywall to support expanded digital content

The digital edition of the publication JF has recently undergone significant changes, reflecting its positive growth trajectory. This expansion is primarily seen in the editorial team, which has been gradually increasing in size over the past few months. JF’s online readership has been on the rise, contributing to a drive to boost the frequency of their online reports.

Currently, the website is producing between 20 to 25 pieces of content daily, including reports, articles, and comments. This increase in content is supported by a growing team of authors and editorial staff, as well as enhanced technical infrastructure. However, maintaining this level of productivity comes with financial implications. To cover these additional costs, JF is dependent on the financial support of its readers.

In response to this need, JF has implemented a paywall feature on their website. A number of exclusive articles, as well as some that appear in their print edition, are now available as “Plus” texts accessible only to paying subscribers. These are part of the website’s strategy to offer more in-depth and exclusive content, thereby incentivising subscriptions and donations from its readership.

For existing readers of the print edition, JF offers a significant discount on their “Online-Plus Subscription”. This subscription model is designed to provide print subscribers with an affordable way to access online content placed behind the paywall. The offer includes a trial period of one month free of charge, followed by a monthly fee of 2.10 euros.
