Grammarly has launched the Effective Communication Score, an AI-driven tool aimed at measuring and improving the effectiveness of organisational communication to boost productivity and business outcomes.
Grammarly has introduced a new tool designed to measure and improve the effectiveness of organizational communication, aiming to address a longstanding challenge for many businesses: quantifying the impact of communication on productivity and business outcomes.
The AI-driven platform, known for its grammar and writing support, has launched the Effective Communication Score, marking a first in the industry. This score allows companies to assess the overall health of their communication by evaluating critical aspects such as correctness, clarity, efficiency, brand compliance, and the use of inclusive language.
Many organisations find it challenging to quantify the benefits AI technology brings, with reports indicating that 41% struggle to define these impacts. Grammarly claims that its AI technology can significantly enhance productivity, with average savings amounting to 19 working days per employee each year. However, business leaders are keen on seeing how these gains translate into tangible business improvements.
Luke Behnke, Grammarly’s VP of Product Management, highlighted the tool’s potential, stating, “We measure the impact of communication effectiveness on employee productivity, team performance, and key business metrics like customer satisfaction scores.”
The tool has reportedly already shown promise, with companies like Databricks noticing a 70% improvement in written communication efficiency. This translated into a halving of the marketing team’s editing time and a 25% improvement in the customer support team’s resolution time, ultimately boosting the number of cases closed.
In conjunction with the communication score, Grammarly is also offering a Return on Investment (ROI) Report, enabling organisations to compare critical metrics with and without the use of Grammarly. This could help determine the impact of improved communication on metrics like customer satisfaction scores and sales email effectiveness.
For businesses seeking early access, the Effective Communication Score and ROI Report will be available to enterprise customers starting November 2024, with a wider rollout on analytics dashboards expected by early 2025.
Grammarly plans to continue refining its offerings, with future updates aimed at providing further insights into AI usage within businesses, potentially showcasing best practices and underutilised features.
As AI continues to permeate various facets of business operations, tools like Grammarly’s new offerings are poised to help companies better understand and leverage their communication strategies for enhanced productivity and success.
